The company uses patent-protected manufacturing processes for customized, high-efficiency piezoelectric ceramics, and offers innovative energy harvesting and biosensing technologies for renewable energy, consumer, industrial, homeland security, defense, and biomedical applications.

Though piezoelectric materials (PZT) can be found in nature (such as quartz), TBT Group synthesizes materials whose properties exceed those of naturally occurring compounds. The unique PZT atomic structures enable them to generate an electric charge when mechanical stress or vibration is applied, which detectably changes when that stress is altered.  The exquisite sensitivity of the materials to change makes them very useful in sensor applications.

TBT Group offers the manufacture of devices made from PZT materials (Navy type I, II, III, V, VI), Barium Titanate material (Navy type IV) and a new generation of piezoelectrics with high Curie temperature (Tc>350°C) and high performance (d33>700 pC/N under electric field) for high-temperature actuator applications.  In addition, the company actively seeks partners and collaborators for the development of PZT energy harvesting systems, sensors and other industrial applications of PZT technologies.
